<p>The present invention relates to a harmonic drive transmission arrangement (10) having an input member (30) and an output member (58). The transmission comprises a generally cylindrically shaped housing (12) having a circular spline gear (20) arranged therein, and a cup-shaped flexspline (22) with an array of radially outwardly directed gear teeth (26) on a first end (24) thereof, engaged with the circular spline gear teeth (20). A wave generator (32) is rotatably supported on the input member (30) radially inwardly of the gear teeth (20) on the flexspline (22), and an annular diaphragm (42) is arranged at a second end (38) of the cup-shaped flexspline. A flange (52) is arranged integral to the diaphragm (42) to permit the cup-shaped flexspline to be securely attached to the output member (58), for the transmission of input through the harmonic drive transmission arrangement, and out via the output member (58) through the flange (52). A "U" shaped channel (50) is annularly arranged between the diaphragm (42) and the flange (52) to distinguish the flange from the diaphragm. <IMAGE></p> |
