PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely stop a rotating operation at the stroke end in a screw type jack device usable for height adjustment of furniture. SOLUTION: A cylindrical screw shaft 43 relatively relatable only in the axial direction and integrally rotating with a rotating shaft 33 is fitted onto the rotating shaft 33 in a transmitting means 32 for interlocking a screw type jack means to a rotating operation shaft, and a radially protruding projection 44 is provided on the end of the cylindrical screw shaft 43. This device comprises, on a frame 10a side, a female screw hole spirally fitted to the cylindrical screw shaft 43 and a stopper 46 abutting on the projection 44 at the cylindrical screw shaft end part when two members to be approached and separated by this screw type jack means reaches at least one stroke end of the approaching and separating movement to stop the rotation of the rotating shaft 33 of the transmitting means 32.
