PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an absorptive article such as a briefs-type diaper having a girth gather that has broad size adequacy and good easiness-to-wear, secures suitable fitting ability with an adequate fastening force, and has good appearance. SOLUTION: In this method, the briefs-type absorptive article is manufactured which has a plurality of girth elastic members 9 circumferentially arranged on the girth part D positioned on the girth of a wearing person. The girth elastic members 9 is grabbed by two outer nonwoven fabrics 51, 52, a part D1 having no absorber 4 of the girth elastic members 9 is fixed via an adhesive, and a part D2 having absorber 4 of the girth elastic members 9 is cut and fixed by heating or pressurizing treatments.
