PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer apparatus capable of operating a motor position of a shift motor toward a high position without stopping in a neutral position to enable a vehicle to travel when the operating time of the shift motor becomes longer. SOLUTION: When the operating time of the shift motor exceeds a limit time T2 (step 10), the operation of the shift motor is stopped (step 18), so that seizure is not caused in the shift motor. It is determined whether the motor position of the stopped shift motor is in high position or not (step 19), and when it is in high position, it is considered that disadvantage is not caused in traveling of the vehicle, traveling is ended with the shift motor still stopped, and when it is not in high position, the vehicle is disabled from traveling when the shift motor is stopped in the neutral position, so the shift motor is operated toward the high position (step 20).
