PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woody material wherein in order to effectively utilize thinnings, as materials of a wide use for engineering works, a public garden and the like capable of being easily utilized in the same way as wood by improv ing durability of the wood by a comparatively simple manufacturing method, the thinnings are free from being exposed directly to external environment such as external humidity, sunlight and the like, endure outdoor uses, and do not cause soil contamination in use and environmental contamination even in final incineration disposal. SOLUTION: A coated layer 2 comprising an olefinic synthetic resin and the like of 3-15 mm in a coated thickness is formed on a core material 1 comprising the thinnings. A bark-like pattern is applied to the coated layer 2. Further, an end part of the core material 1 is sealed up by an end part cap 50, and its integration with the coated layer 2 is carried out.
