PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To moderate temperature rise of a piezoelectric element and the switch circuit thereof in a print head. SOLUTION: A mechanism 200 for cooling the piezoelectric element and the switch circuit thereof in a print head is provided. The cooling mechanism 200 has a coolant containing chamber 202 disposed proximately to the piezoelectric element 55 and the switch circuit 54. A pump 204 and a radiator 206 are provided in a circulation passage. A control circuit 212 stops operation of the pump 204 and a fan 208 when the temperature of a coolant is lower than a specified temperature and operates them when the specified temperature is exceeded.
