PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for systematically sequencing operations which are executed on a relational database in order to prevent the violation of referential integrity constraint. SOLUTION: A method, a system and a computer program are prepared for improving the efficiency of operations which are executed on an optional relational database by automatically sequencing these operations according to the referential integrity constraint that is defined about affected tables. As the sequencing is systematically executed, an application developer is released from a burden that the developer must try to configure an application without violating the referential integrity constraint. The database change efficiency is significantly improved by means of this technique. The sequencing can be executed at the side of a database engine. An existing application can use this sequencing technique without changing the application itself. When this technique is used, a batch mode write operation is possible. As a result, the number of required network round trips can be decreased.
