PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary operation type electronic component that can transmit a rotation of a shaft member to a rotary shaft and take inclining amount of the shaft member large. SOLUTION: This is equipped with the rotary operation type electronic component member 2, the shaft member 18 disposed in the axial direction of the rotary shaft 5 of the component member 2, an operating member 16 that is provided on the shaft member 18, faces the component member 2 in the axial direction, slants and also rotates the shaft member 18, and a switching member 20 that performs switching action accompanied by slanting motion of the shaft member 18. The rotary shaft 5 is equipped with a connecting shaft 11, whose tip potion has been connected to an end of the shaft member 18 with an elastic member 12. The shaft member 18 is rotated by rotary operation of the operating member 16, causing the rotation of the elastic member 12 and rotary shaft 5 through the connecting shaft 11, and the shaft member 18 slants while making the elastic member 12 perform an elastic deformation with pressing operation of the operating member 16.
