PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem where the cost is increased to provide a hard disk and operation is made complicated without the hard disk. SOLUTION: A scan box 10 itself is not provided with a large-capacity storage, and a scan application is executed preliminarily in another client 50 connected to a network 30, thus read condition or the like of a scanner 20 is read out from a set information area 41 of a file sever 40 according to the read start operation from the scan box 10, and the scan application transfers read data to an image area 42 of the file server 40, while controlling the scanner 20 in the same condition, and thus the constitution of the scan box 10 can be made simple and the scanner 20 can be shared comfortably with many users.
