PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a halogen lamp serving in reducing the color slippage and absorption of the visible radiation to be used for floodlights, and to provide an illumination apparatus using this halogen lamp. SOLUTION: The transparent airtight receptacle 1 comprises a principal part 1a, a neck part 1b, a sealed part 1c and an exhaust tip 1d. A filament 2 is consisted of a bar shape tungsten a double-coil filament and the principal part 1a is shaped like a falsely rotating ellipsoid. An infrared reflecting interference film 5 is formed on the whole part of principal part 1a and an exhaust tip 1d and provided with the required spectral transmission characteristic. A visible radiation transmission film 7 consists of a cobalt-contained silicon polyester resin and is formed on the outside surfaces of the exhaust tip 1d and the top part 1a3, at the side of the infrared reflecting interference film 5, as shown on Figs. 2, 3, 6.
