PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily change transfer quantity of a transfer means even during operation of an input device. SOLUTION: A 1/2 counter 72 as a changing means is connected between a photointerrupter 58 and an interface 61. The number of pulses to be outputted from the photointerrupter 58 is changed by the 1/2 counter 72 based on an operation of a speed change key to be arranged on a mouse. Namely, the transfer quantity of a cursor for the transfer quantity of the mouse is easily changed even by a beginner, etc., who is not accustomed to use of a personal computer. In addition, since transfer rate of the cursor is easily changed by properly operating the speed change key, the transfer rate is made to conform to transfer distance to be dragged and the operability of the mouse is enhanced. Consequently, usability is enhanced since the transfer quantity of the cursor for the transfer quantity of the mouse is changed even during transfer (operation) of the mouse.
