PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electric machine capable of contributing to downsizing, weight reduction and high torque efficiently utilizing the raw materials. SOLUTION: The rotating electric machine comprises a yoke 11, a rotor 12, a permanent magnet 13 and a rotating shaft 14. The yoke 11 serving double as a motor case is formed in an oval shape is its cross section having a flat part 15 and a curved part 16, and the thickness T2 of the flat part 15 is larger than the thickness T1 of the curved part 16. Also, a couple of the permanent magnets 13 is mounted to the internal-peripheral side of the curved part 16, and the flat part 15 forms a main magnetic circuit. By configuring the rotating electric machine as above, the machine can reduce reluctance and contribute to downsizing, weight reduction and high torque as the raw material is efficiently utilized. |
