A client (1) and a server (2) having a database (2a) are connected with each other through a communication network (3). In accordance with a selection by the user, a map of a port which is extracted from the database is displayed, and image data for allowing the user to select execution of search for a ship schedule or that for a cargo schedule is sent. Where the user is a shipowner, for example, the image data for allowing the shipowner to input the search conditions is sent when the shipowner wants to search for a cargo schedule. When the shipowner sends the search conditions, the cargo schedule extracted from the database is displayed according to the search conditions, and the image data for allowing the shipowner to determine whether or not the address for contact on the cargo schedule is displayed is sent. When the shipowner wants display of the address, the image data for displaying the address extracted from the database is sent. The shipowner can communicate with the cargo owner by using the address. Likewise, the cargo owner can search for a cargo ship satisfying his request.
