PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a uniform and homogeneous membrane using an ink jet delivery apparatus by suppressing clogging in a nozzle and preventing phase separation of solid components in an ink when dried in a preparing method of a functional membrane, such as a liquid crystal panel, or the like. SOLUTION: A composition, obtained by adding a halogen element-substituted benzene derivative having a boiling point of 150 deg.C or higher to a delivery composition comprising a functional material, such as an organic electroluminescence material, a precursor of a silica glass, or the like, and the like, is delivered from a nozzle 1 onto a substrate 5 using an ink jet printing apparatus. Further, the delivered composition is treated at a temperature higher than the delivery temperature to form a functional membrane. In the figure, 4 is a mosaically divided ITO (indium oxide transparent electrode pattern) and 3 is a bank part surrounding the transparent electrode part.
