PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator wherein wear of a slide part is decreased and lowering of refrigerating capacity is suppressed. SOLUTION: A displacer is inserted in a cylinder and an expansion space is definitely divided at one inner end of a cylinder. A groove to make one round of a displacer is formed in the outer peripheral surface of the displacer. The groove is charged with a slipper seal. The slipper seal makes contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder at a belt-like region to make one round of its inner peripheral surface. At least one of the contact surface of the slipper seal and the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder is covered by a film formed of diamond-like carbon.
