PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll for hot rolling made by centrifugal casting excellent in wear resistance and crack resistance. SOLUTION: This roll for hot rolling made by centrifugal casting is composed of an external layer having a composition containing, by mass, 2.7 to 4.0% C, 0.5 to 2% Si, 0.2 to 2% Mn, 0.2 to 0.8% Mo, 2.5 to 6.0% Ni, 1.0 to 2.0% Cr and 0.01 to 0.1% B, further containing one or two kinds of 0.2 to 1.0% Nb and 0.2 to 2.0% V, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and an internal layer consisting of high grade cast iron or spheroidal graphite cast iron.
