PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new nitrogen-based flame retardant, and to obtain a flame-retardant polyamide resin composition which contains the new nitrogen- based flame retardant, has excellent flame retardancy, weather resistance and mechanical characteristics, and is suitable for obtaining molded articles having good retention thermal stability, when molded. SOLUTION: This flame-retardant polyamide resin composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a polyamide resin, 5 to 50 pts.wt. of a condensation reaction product (nitrogen-based flame retardant) consisting mainly of a compound obtained by condensing a triazine compound represented by the general formula (1) with a sulfanylamide compound, a phenol compound and a formaldehyde compound, 0 to 45 pts.wt. of a phosphorous flame retardant, 0 to 100 pts.wt. of glass fibers, and 0 to 2.5 pts.wt. of a silane coupling agent having an alkoxy group and either of an epoxy group or a vinyl group, or a mercapto group in the molecule, wherein the total amount of the nitrogen based flame retardant and the phosphorous flame retardant is 10 to 50 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the polyamide resin.
