PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for sending paper sheets in a paper sheet classification system, capable of smoothly sending out the paper sheet at a paper sheet sending-out position. SOLUTION: This device controls such that when a paper sheet 10 is excessively pushed to a separating and supply belt 67 at a paper sheet sending-out position 8, this excessive push is detected by an excessive push detecting means 105, then a sending direction of the paper sheet 10 by auxiliary transporting belt means 44A and 44B is temporarily changed to a contrary direction to solve the excessively pushed state, thereby enabling to recommence sending-out. This control prevents a previous paper sheet excessively pushed by a following paper sheet from being sent out, and enables the separating and supply belt 67 to smoothly send out paper sheets at the paper sheet sending-out position 8.
