PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marking device and a marking method capable of facilitating marking work, simplifying the device structure, and safely realizing labor savings for the work. SOLUTION: This device is characterized by being equipped with a rectangular hollow plate 12 with a plurality of laser pointers 14 disposed thereon at specified positions, each pointer 14 emitting a rectilinear laser beam corresponding to each side of an opening in a ceiling, a level gage 16 provided on the plate 12, and a plurality of height adjustment stoppers 13 for adjusting the height of the plate 12.
