PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe roof construction method executable from the inner part of a tunnel pit. SOLUTION: This pipe roof construction method comprises constructing a tunnel section widened part and inserting a steel pipe along the outer circumference of the excavated section by use of an insert reaction on the working face-side edge part of the widened part prior to tunnel boring.
