HIGH MELTING POINT MONOFILAMENT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high melting point monofilament having excellent uniformity of filament diameter and tensile strength, useful as an industrial material and to provide a method for efficiently producing the same. SOLUTION: This high melting point monofilament comprises a thermoplastic resin having >=280 deg.C melting point and >=90 deg.C glass transition point and has >=0.05 mm diameter, <=4% coefficient of variation of filament diameter in the length direction and <=6% coefficient of variation of tensile strength measurement values of 50 times. The monofilament is produced by a method for cooling and solidification in a mist atmosphere having a specific temperature and specific volume median particle diameter ratio.
