A solid-inching container which never rolls even when transversely stored, which gives an excellent feeling of use without causing discomfort during use, and which is capable of uniform application of the solid to an object in a single applying operation. The container is designed so that rotating a rotary portion (20) provided in the bottom of a container main body (10) storing a solid (X) causes a holder (40) threadedly fitted to a screw shaft (30) to slide vertically so as to inch the solid (X) forward or backward, the cross-section of the container main body (10) being quadrangular, the cross-section of the rotary portion (20) being circular. Let (a) be the overall length of the container main body (10), (b) the overall length of the rotary body (20), and (c (c = a + b)) be the overall length of the solid-inching container (A). In this case, the overall length (a) is 50% or more of the overall length (c). |
