PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna system for a portable mobile communication device that can prevent deterioration in radiation efficiency of a helical antenna caused on a human body. SOLUTION: The antenna system 11 of the portable mobile communication unit is provided with a case 12 and a printed circuit board 15, placed in the inside of the case 12 and on which various electronic components are mounted. The helical antenna 16 is mounted on the printed circuit board 15, a radiation conductor 1 is connected to a terminal 16d placed opposite to a feeding point in both terminals 16c, 16d of the helical antenna 16, and the radiation conductor 19 is placed at a position in the inside of the case 12 so as to be far from the body of the user. Through the use of such a configuration, the adverse effect by the human body can be reduced and the radiation efficiency of the helical antenna can be enhanced.
