PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a shutoff member 26 for separating space 12 on working chamber side and space 16 on driving chamber side from being broken by pressure difference, and keep the performance of a freezer and prevent the reliability from being marred, by automatically adjusting the pressure difference between both space at all times within a stipulated value. SOLUTION: A stirling refrigerating machine 10, where a space 12 on working chamber side having an expansion piston 14 arranged and a space 16 on driving side 16 having a crank drive source 20 for driving the expansion piston through a connecting rod 18 are separated by the expansible shutoff member 26 such as bellows or the like, is equipped with a pressure regulating part 30 which has two buffer chambers 30 and 32 divided by a shutoff member 28 for pressure regulation and connects each buffer chamber with space on working chamber side and space on driving chamber side severally by pipes, and a controller 44 for dissolution of differential pressure which includes a microcomputer for outputting valve drive signals to pressure regulating valves 48 and 52 arranged on the opening end side of each pipe, receiving the input of the detection signal of a working-chamber-side pressure sensor 40 and a driving-chamber-side pressure sensor 42 for detecting each pressure of both buffer chambers, and this controls the differential pressure between the space on working chamber side and the space on driving chamber side into a stipulated value.
