CAISSON TYPE EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT QUAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a defect of a conventional caisson type quay, i.e., a defect of high cost due to a necessity of enlarging the width of the caisson in order to increase sliding safety factor thereof in the event of an earthquake. SOLUTION: According to the caisson type earthquake resistant quay, a base-isolation layer is formed on at least one of an immediately rear surface of the caisson type quay, a lower surface of back-filling stones, a lower surface of a waste rock mound, and a lower surface of a filled-up land.
