PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a power supply fir driving a magnetron of the existing structure where the parts having higher ratings must be used because the voltage of about 500 V is applied to a semiconductor switching element and the voltage of about 20 kV is applied to the magnetron. SOLUTION: A power supply is provided for driving a magnetron, which can reduce the voltage applied to the semiconductor switching element 6 and magnetron 7 by utilizing a capacitor, having voltage-dependence type capacitance characteristic, which changes the capacitance depending on the applied voltage as a capacitor 5 to form a resonance circuit 3 in combination with a high- voltage transformer 4.
