The invention concerns a method for implementing a storage system for depositing and recovering an object, said object being provided with an identification code particular to said object, said system comprising: at least a locker for receiving said object, said locker being provided with a locked door designed to be closed after the object has been deposited; unlocking means for opening said door to enable said object to be deposited and recovered; detecting, reading and acquisition means capable of identifying said identification code particular to said object. The method comprises the following steps: 1) steps prior to depositing the object in the locker consisting in: a) recording the identification code particular to the object by the storage system; b) allocating an empty locker identified by said code particular to said locker; c) correlating the two codes particular to the object and to the locker so as to authorise unlocking of the door of the empty locker allocated after validating subsequent step d; 2) steps depositing said object consisting in: identifying the code particular to said object with the detecting, reading or acquisition means which triggers the unlocking of the door authorised at step c); e) depositing the object in the empty locker; and f) closing back the locker door.
