The system has one or more high frequency ranges for data communications, each with at least one channel and at least one suitable for high bit rate data communications and a channel estimation arrangement. If the channels are too noisy for high bit rate communications a basic connection is first used to pass channel parameters for the noisy channels and to adapt the type of noisy high bit rate communications to the applicable channel parameters.
