PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an aluminum phthalocyanine capable of widely improving both the yield and manufacturing time by achieving the production from a nitrile through one process. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an aluminum phthalocyanine comprises the first step in which an aluminum halide and ammonium are made to react with each other in a solvent to form a complex, and the second step in which the resultant complex is made to react with a phthalonitrile.
