PURPOSE: To provide a sensor for a fuel injector usable for detecting failure, for protecting an engine and for a diagnostic analysis. CONSTITUTION: An electric sensor 44 for detecting a movement of a control rod 40 in fuel injection includes an annular barrel having a side surface for forming a screw groove, and is threadedly installed in the screw hole worked in a fuel injector housing 10 via this screw groove. A single rod-like electric probe 48 extends by penetrating through the barrel along the barrel axis, and is maintained on the barrel axis regardless of a rotary position of the barrel.
