PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a system is complicated, inferior in efficiency, and expensive and there is not a method for easily referring to article information stored on a server since information of sale, stocking, ordering, warehousing, etc., is gathered by using individual terminal styles although the purpose of article management of the information is to gather the information on the server. SOLUTION: This system is equipped with a portable telephone means equipped with a communication function, a scanner means equipped with a reading function for article information, and an article management device which is connected to the scanner means and portable telephone means through the communication means; and article information read by the scanner means is connected bidirectionally to a wide-area communication network by the communication function of the portable telephone means and the wide-area communication network is connected to the server for article management.
