The invention relates to a metal bucket dredger comprising two buckets (4, 4') joined by a movable hinge (a) and by an assembly having two crossed arms (2, 2') spaced apart by an interlocking bar (1) which also has the function of a graduated lever, the buckets (4, 4') being closed at the falling of said bar (1) under the action of some weights (3, 3') which may be fixed or ajustable by addition of metal ballast, in equal amounts on each of the arms (b, b') interlocking said weights (3, 3') with the buckets (4, 4'), a manhole (c) being cut on one of said buckets (4), the sample collecting useful surface being adjustable within the range of 200...600 cm2, in a simplified embodiment, the closing being achieved without weights (3, 3'), under the action of the own weight of the buckets (4, 4').
