PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in the stand-by state of a pay satellite broadcast receiver loaded with an IC card storing reception acceptance information. SOLUTION: The electronic equipment is provided with a master part for stopping operation and outputting an operation state signal S2 indicating the stand-by state at the time of receiving an equipment control signal S1 for specifying the stand-by state in a normal state and starting operation and outputting the operation state signal S2 indicating the normal state at the time of receiving the equipment control signal S1 for selecting the normal state in the stand-by state and a slave part for stopping the operation at the time of receiving an IC card detection signal S3 indicating the readable state of the IC card 4 in the operation state and receiving the operation state signal S2 indicating the stand-by state from the master part and driving a part of function blocks at the time of receiving the operation state signal S2 indicating the normal state from the master part in the stopped state of operation. |
