PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for using debit settlement and electronic money together, which can perform settlement within a prescribed range, even when the balance of electronic money is short at the time when a user purchases a commodity with electronic money. SOLUTION: The user stores the upper limit amount or an arbitrary amount of electronic money in an IC card used as electronic money and uses electronic money to purchase a commodity in a member store, and the user pays the charge with electronic money, if the amount of money for purchase is equal to or smaller than the balance of electronic money, and the user supplies electronic money to pay the charge with electronic money, when it is equal to or smaller than the upper limit amount of the electronic money, and the user pays the charge with debit settlement, if it is larger than the upper limit amount of electronic money and is equal to or smaller than the balance in user's account. |
