PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine that can save its installation space and facilitate replacement of recording paper. SOLUTION: A recording paper discharge tray 3 forms the part of a terminal body 1, then the tray is not exposed to the outside of the terminal body 1, an original cover 6 acts like a paper discharge tray for original 10 and an original paper supply tray 7 is placed on the paper discharge tray, and then the original paper supply tray 7 is not exposed from the terminal body 1. Furthermore, since a recording paper cassette 2 can be pulled out from the front of the terminal body 1, cut paper sheets are supplemented from the front of the terminal, and a user need not move around the sides of the terminal body 1. A set of line sensors of an image read section 5 is used to allow the user, to read both an original 11 on an original read face 13 and the original 10 on the original paper supply tray 7, thereby to simplify the constitution.
