Controlled release of apomorphine delivered by sublingual or buccal administration for treating impotence

A direct compression composition for delivery via the sublingual route that comprises a apomorphine or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt, an osmotic agent such as sugars, glycerin, polyelectrolytes, organic and inorganic salts, a swellable hydrophilic carrier for example ethyl cellulose, and a water dispersible polymer. The T90 of the composition is in the range 35 to 45 minutes. The composition is useful in treating impotence.
