First laser beam (1) is modulated (3) with print information. Second laser beam (2) is reflected by mirror (4) in direction corresponding to direction of modulated laser beam (5). Both beams are imaged onto print roller (8). Modulated laser beam contacts roller at position (10), reflected second laser beam contacts at location (11). Due to rotation of roller, contact point of second beam crosses contact point of first modulated beam, this produces local warming of roller at point (10).
