The lamp has a transparent protective tube containing an elongated lamp and a sealing ring between pressure rings. An outer pressure ring is fixed to an axially fixed outer cover part. An inner pressure ring is connected to an actuating part passing through the cover part to be brought into contact with an axial stop surface. A lever rotatably mounted on the actuating part operates a cam pressed against the stop surface by rotating the lever. The lamp has a transparent protective tube (31) containing an elongated lamp and at least one end cover (7) with a sealing ring (2) between inner and outer pressure rings (3,8) that are axially mutually relatively movable, whereby the sealing ring is pressed radially outwards against the interior of the tube by axial pressure. The outer pressure ring is fixed to an axially fixed outer cover part. The inner pressure ring is connected to an actuating part passing through the cover part to be brought into contact with an axial stop surface on the outer cover part. A lever (26) rotatably mounted on the axial end of the actuating part operates a cam that is pressed against the stop surface by rotating the lever.
