PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber for an endoscope which is capable of suppressing the color drift and color smear generated in accordance with the difference in wavelengths of incident light by forming the fiber to an image guide length nearly equal to the length integer times the least common multiple at the reimaging distances corresponding to the plural wavelengths. SOLUTION: An optical fiber of a refractive index distribution type is used and the image guide length thereof is made nearly equal to the length integer times the least common multiple (L0) at the in the reimaging distances (L1, L2 and L3) respectively corresponding to the plural wavelengths selected from the used wavelength regions.
