PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide surface inspection of a fast moving face conventionally difficult with a continuous oscillation type laser beam source. SOLUTION: A laser beam with large momentary oscillation energy oscillated by a pulse oscillation type laser beam source 20 is irradiated on a surface of a steel strip 10 or a rolling roll 12 for inspecting the surface of the fast moving face.
