PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furnace temperature setting method of a heating zone in a continuous annealing furnace by which fuel can efficiently be utilized for heating up to a prescribed temperature of a strip to be heated and a unit requirement of the fuel can be reduce in the case of heating many kinds of strips different in strip loads decided with the strip size and the line speed continuously treated to the prescribed temperature in the heating zone, and a furnace temperature setting instrument. SOLUTION: The target temperature value of the strip S at each outlet side in plural zones 31 and 32 is set so that the fuel flow distribution in each of plural zones 31 and 32 in the heating zone 3 becomes a prescribed pattern, to put it concretely, the fuel flow distribution in each of the zones 31 and 32 is substantially equalized.
