Thermoformed bioabsorbable polymers for use in medical devices

We have developed thermoformed bioabsorbable polymer preforms that are oriented in at least one axis (preferably two axes that are orthogonal) that are suitable for making into medical devices. This preforms are formed from bioabsorbable polymeric sheets that are heated, shaped against a three dimensional mold to impart orientation to the polymeric sheets and cooled to retain at least part of the orientation.
