PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multi-wavelength light source having a high light output in each wavelength channel, being the multi-wavelength light source of continuous light excellent in stability, operability, and mass-productivity. SOLUTION: In the light source constituted of a light pulse generating means to generate a light pulse, an optical spectrum magnification means consisting of an optical nonlinear medium to induce an optical nonlinear phenomenon, and an optical demultiplexer to separate light at an interval of a certain wavelength, the optical demultiplexer is a multi-wavelength light source constituted of an array type optical waveguide grating in which the repeat frequency of a light pulse train in the light pulse generating means or a longitudinal mode interval in the frequency component of the light pulse, and the frequency interval of the wavelength separation are identical to the longitudinal mode interval. |
