PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for obtaining a lithographic printing ink which improves the interfacial compatibility of an ink by leaps and bounds and can prevent the scumming of nonimage portions without adversely affecting the ink spread of image portions. SOLUTION: (1) The lithographic printing ink additive comprises a polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester compound or a polyoxyethylene sorbitol fatty acid ester compound. (2) The lithographic printing ink additive comprises a compound having two or more sulfonic groups.
