PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a damage of an element such as a capacitor, a switching transistor or the like by suppressing a rise of a power source voltage due to an electromotive force by detecting the force of a fan motor of an outdoor unit due to an outdoor wind. SOLUTION: An air conditioner comprises a converter 1 for converting an AC power into a DC power, a smoothing capacitor 2 connected in parallel with an output of the converter 1, a compressor driver 3 supplied with a high- voltage DC voltage via the capacitor 2, a fan driver 5 and a power source 7 for a controller, a compressor 4, a fan motor 6 and a controller 8 for controlling an outdoor unit A in which a power is supplied from the power source 7 for the controller to control the unit A. A method for controlling the air conditioner comprises the step of supplying a power to the compressor 4 by the controller 8 when the motor 6 is rotated by the outdoor wind during stopping of the operation for turning off the AC power source and the controller 8 is started according to the electromotive force of the motor 6 generated by its rotation. |
