PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer suitable for a portable use by a constitution wherein a mounting area of a circuit board having a circuit group necessary for the printing operation is made small by improving the mounting form and the arrangement structure of the circuit board. SOLUTION: The board 22 is mounted on the printer and the board 22 is formed to be in roughly an L-shape by connecting a control board 22a and a power board 22b by a connector and they are electrically connected with each other by the connector. In an embodiment, a battery contact piece 34a and a power board 22b, through which a large current passes, such as a control circuit for heating a thermal head by activating the head are provided to a side near the generating source to be collectively mounted on one power board 22b. The control board 22a for executing controlling of conveyance of a recording paper or an ink ribbon which requires a small current is disposed near an actuator for executing the conveyance and the components are collectively mounted on one control board 22a.
