PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network system where the nodes of common constitutions are used for constructing a network and the network start/restoration control is attained with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: In a ring network system where a plurality of nodes are connected together and duplexed, a detection means is prepared to every node for detecting the types of its adjacent nodes together with a decision means which decides its own node type from the types of upstream and downstream nodes which are detected by the detection means.
