PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron gun having a resistor and a capacitor. SOLUTION: The electron gun for a cathode ray tube comprises at least one cathode for emitting an electron beam and a plurality of grids by which each potential is biased for focusing the electron beam. The plurality of grids here include an anode to be biased to an anode potential, a dynamic focus grid to which an AC signal is applied and an intermediate grid located between the anode and the dynamic focus grid. When a resistance is connected between the anode and the intermediate grid, part of the anode potential is applied to the intermediate grid. A capacitance greater than a parasitic capacitance between the dynamic focus gird and the intermediate grid is connected to the intermediate grid.
