The invention relates to a method for applying cut sections of film (4) which are coated with a self-adhesive layer on the reverse (4a), to parts (2) that require covering, in particular body parts of motor vehicles. The cut section of film (4) concerned is pre-positioned in a defined orientation, with its self-adhesive reverse side held in a convex shape and is then applied. The pre-positioned cut section of film (4) is applied by force-controlled application to the corresponding part (2) that is to be covered, in a manner which achieves a frictionless application and roll-off motion about a respective rotational axis (15) that shifts dynamically and travels over the part (2), following the roll-off motion. |
