Adaptive turbo coding and decoding

Data is coded (30I, 30N) using serial turbo-codes having initial dimension n. There are N (at lest two) individual coding stages associated with the respective marking stages which are concatenated in series, with an interlacing stage between the successive coding stages. Each coding stage (31) generates data with certain redundancy. The total redundancy of all stages is a product of individual redundancies modified (32) by corresponding marking. Conditions of transmission are analyzed (35) in order to select distribution of redundancy.
